Issue #5 : Published

A Note from the Chairman

What a great month we’ve had.

Sadly as everyone knows the Harrow meeting was our last one at that venue due to the unfortunate closure of the pub. However we then enjoyed a great meeting at The Castle pub which seems to be attracting new members. Hopefully this venue will become just as popular as our other meetings.

New Year’s Day saw the Brass Monkeys meeting which was our first New Year meeting since taking it over from North West Casuals. I thought it was a great success and a brilliant way to start the year.

The issues at Manor Farm have now been sorted and the staff are fully up to speed with our needs which is excellent. They’ve also told us they’ll be serving full breakfasts from next month great news for us fatties!

Our second meeting of the month was moved to Chapelford Farm due to the Black Swan undergoing a full refurbishment. The good news is that it will be reopening next month.

This coming Sunday will see us at our new venue The Moss Bank Pub. Let’s hope it’s just as good as our other meetings as we continue moving forward with the club’s commitment to providing the best possible meetings and events for our members.

I’m also pleased to announce that we’ve been honoured with a club event at the Anderton Boat Lift on the 16th of May. Ian has confirmed that the Liverpool Museum has invited us back again for an event on the 20th of June and with Tatton Park to be announced in the coming months.

Thank you all for your continued support of our great club.

Regards,

Carl - Club Chairman

Last Month’s Highlights

Star of the meeting was undoubtedly Dave Tee's immaculate Vauxhall Chevette. It's mint!

The annual New Year's Day "Brass Monkeys" meeting at the Black Swan has traditionally been held by the North West Casual Classics but Phoenix have taken on the hosting for 2026 and onward. It was a popular event with the car park crammed full of interesting cars all getting their first run out in 2026. We were joined by a number of youtubers who recorded videos of the meeting and interviewed owners for their channels.

Our first Sunday meeting of 2026 was a success, despite the snow! We were joined by a pair of TVRs who must've had an entertaining journey given the weather and James Hunt in his huge Land Rover Discovery. We're proud to attract such a variety of machinery to our meetings.

A change to our regular Black Swan meet as they were closed for renovations this month. The appalling weather didn't put people off, attendance was excellent although most were in their modern daily drivers rather than classics, which was undestandable in the circumstances!
